The International Beer Challenge competition is held every year in England and this year, it celebrates its 25th anniversary! For the last quarter of a century, some of the world’s most famous beers and breweries have been competing in it.<\/p>\r\n

The IBC Awards are a rigorous judging process – in a strictly controlled blind tasting environment – by panels of more than 70 recognised and experienced industry professionals, including retailers, importers, brewers, columnists and flavour analysts.<\/p>\r\n

Beer samples are delivered to the judging area, by category, in numbered tasting glasses. Each judge does not know the beer he\/she is tasting to ensure the validity of the blind tasting. Each beer tasted is scored for the quality of its organoleptic characteristics: appearance, taste, texture, aroma and aftertaste. The top beers in each category compete for 3 medals: bronze, silver or gold.<\/p>\r\n

As you would expect from judges with this level of knowledge and experience, the processes are lengthy, everything is judged in detail and no beer is easily awarded.<\/p>\r\n<\/blockquote>\r\n

As Competition Chairman and award-winning author on Beer, Jeff Evans,<\/strong> states “Acclaimed professional beer judges seek perfection in taste.” The beers are divided into categories (beer styles) and tasted using the blind tasting method, so the judges do not know which particular beer they are tasting at any given time. … As you would expect from judges with this level of knowledge and experience, the processes are lengthy, everything is judged in detail and no beer is easily awarded.”<\/p>\r\n\"\"\r\n

NISSOS BEERS<\/h2>\r\n

At the International Beer Challenge 2021<\/strong>, the NISSOS team literally triumphed by winning 4 awards, and putting another international stamp on the sensory excellence that its beers offer to beer lovers seeking taste and quality.<\/p>\r\n

The now classic NISSOS GREEK ISLAND PILSNER<\/strong> won the GOLD Medal<\/strong> in the highly competitive PILSNER category, confirming once again its description as “one of the best PILSNER beers in the world”.<\/p>\r\n

The red, ale, monastic-style NISSOS APOCALY\u03a8H<\/strong> made the surprise in the Ale category, one of the most traditional beer categories in Europe, bringing to the holy island of Tinos the GOLD Medal<\/strong>!<\/p>\r\n

BRONZE medals<\/strong> were\u00a0 given to the thunderous and stormy, black NISSOS 7 BEAUFORT<\/strong> and the aromatic, certified organic and gluten-free NISSOS ALL-DAY<\/strong>!<\/p>\r\n
